3 Reasons Cold Air Isn't Blowing Out Of Your Buildings Vent

One of the last things you want to happen is a malfunction with your air conditioner during the hot summer months. When the temperature rises outside, the last thing you want if for it to be sweltering inside. There are can be various reasons as to why the cold air isn't blowing out of your commercial buildings vent. Here are just a few things to look out for if you are experiencing a lack of cold in your building.

1. Check the Thermostat

The thermostat can be the key to this problem due to its settings. Even though your thermostat is set for the air to come on, the fan settings should be set to "auto". Setting the fan settings to "on" will cause air to blow, just not cold air.

2. Monitor Air Filters Closely

Air filters are important for proper air flow. Homes that have three or more people living in the home should change their filters every 90 days. If you have pets, you should change the filter every 20-45 days. Filters can become clogged with dirt, fur, and other debris from daily use. Dirty filters block air flow, limiting the amount of air that can pass through the air filter.

3. Check the Exterior Unit

There may be poor airflow due to dirt and debris in the outside unit. When you cut grass or thunderstorms occur, grass, dirt, twigs, and branches can get lodged in the outside unit. Remove debris from the unit and check for damages.

Your air conditioner keeps you cool when the temperatures rise. Checking these three instances should help you get your air back in normal working order.
